Getting Started

Great Ideas

Need some ideas about what you can talk about on this site? Luckily we've compiled a list of ideas to get you started.

Welcome to the Our Food Matters Community!

With it's vast array of options, this site may feel a little overwhelming, so we've compiled a handy guide to get you started.

How This Works

Those of you familiar with other social networking sites like facebook should have no trouble adapting to ourfoodmatters. If you are new to social networking then read on.

Essentially these are the activities that you can undertake on Our Food Matters (as much as possible these are listed in the same order as they appear on the menu at the top o the page.

  • Create a user profile, including a profile picture and other relevant information.
  • Become "friends" with other members, which will give you the ability to send them mail/messages to their Our Food Matters profile.
  • Participate in a forum discussion. This is a great place to get to know other members of the community and to ask questions and get them answered.
  • Write a blog. You can create a new blog post from your "My Profile" page. Going to the blogs option at the top of the page will show the most recent blog posts from all members.
  • Joining a group will allow you to participate in discussions with other group members. Joining a group also a great way to show your support and meet people in similar situations.
  • You can upload your photos and videos to share. You get options as to who can see these items (just you, you and your 'friends' or everyone).
  • Create an event. This could be anything from a cooking class to an International Natural Health Symposium, it's up to you!

  3. Please stay as on topic as you can. If there isn't a group to discuss a topic that you would like to see covered, then feel free to create one. If there is a forum category that you feel is missing, then please contact us
  4. We hope that this would go without saying, but please do not post anything that is intentionally inflamatory, sexist, racist, ageist, pornographic or breaks the laws of the region you are posting from.
  5. We encourage debate, but please play nice and fight fair.
