Starting with small changes can really show you the benefits

We had to make some changes this past year due to my husband's illness and one was to eliminate wheat.  I ate the same food as my dear hubby because I want to keep things simple.  I have dropped over 30 lbs in the last 6 months without any effort.  Turns out I have similar food intolerances. Now I will continue to make more changes and look forward to reaping the healthy results!

That is awesome! What a wake-up call! My husband and I were eating high raw, and when we did eat cooked food, it was mostly vegan. Well in October, we feel off the that diet after being on it for 8 months. I had dropped 20lbs and now I have gained 25lbs! It is terrible. I look forward to spring and eating better. I hope being a part of this community helps me. I know what to do, I am just lacking the drive to do it! I honestly don't know what my problem is. I think you have the right idea when you say small changes add up to big benefits! Thanks for sharing!
Why wait til spring - today is the first day of the rest of your life!
That's fantastic Cheryl. Food sensitivities and allergies can play a big part in the body retaining adipose tissue (fat) to protect itself. Remember everything the body does, including hold weight, is a healing and protective mechanism against food or environmental issues. Remove the offending culprit and the weight will disappear!!!

Fantastic and thank you for sharing!

@Stacey... You can do it now!!! Baby steps, we're all here to support you!!!
Hi Cheryl and James, I am starting now, I know I kind of rambled, but I am excited for spring to get more activity in... I have b egun making small changes as of yesterday and I plan to continue. My daughter and I even got out on a 30 minute walk yesterday! Thank you for your words of encouragement- it is great to be a part of a supportive community. Thank you!

great stuff! I have just started this week on a kind of clean eating program and haven't eaten any dairy or wheat, just beans, fruit, veg, chicken, fish and already I feel so much better! long may it continue
Good for you Stacey!!!! When you start feeling the rewards, you just can't help but want more ;-)
I quit wheat and this was wonderful to find that food really affected me, but I still had digestion sensitivity so I started a gentle cleanse and that was the best next step.
I worked with an RNH/Allergist to find out what my digestive intolerances were after I realized the difference eliminating wheat made. Strangely enough the top 6 items were on my frequently eaten list, so it was a bit of a shakeup. My husband and I were so pleased with the results we have enrolled in the RHN program at Canadian School of Natural Nutrition to learn more.
I am the same Cheryl. I once did the Blood Type diet and it said for Type A to avoid wheat. I lost so much weight not eating bread etc. My body is definitely intolerant to it. As soon as I start eating bread, I put on weight very quickly and become very bloated.
Hello, my name is Brenda. i just now signed on after having watched "Foodmatters" just last evening. I am a type 2 diabetic and really dislike the medications. I do not, however, have to rely on insulin. I will be learning how to eliminate the meds, I hope, on my journey here with everyone. Upon reading the replys above, the one regarding allergies was interesting. My sons are 29 and 22, and they have both had allergies to, unfortunately, the healthy veges and fruits, most all their lives. They've been told to cook them and that works, but they would prefer their natural state. My youngest has the worst reactions, and my oldest has learned to tolerate the itchy throat and neck and back and chest areas and pushes thru. Has anyone out there ever experienced this or knows of this disorder? I look forward to hearing from you. Thanks......
