Our Food Matters

Leading The Natural Health Revolution

Hi there!

I live in France where food is a very important part of the culture. Over here, the usual meal is composed of :

- apéritif

- starters

- main course (has to be some kind of protein with cooked veg)

- cheese

- desert

Sometimes it's healthy, sometimes it's not.  It all depends on who's receiving you. What advice do you have for someone who's trying to get into (and stay on) a raw food diet without offending hosts?

I went on the 7 day detox plan and confess it has worked wonders.  I don't know how much weight I lost (because I don't want to associate the plan to a "diet"), but I'm feeling a lot better and my jeans are much looser.  I would like to be able to stay on it but I don't know how to cope with socializing at the same time.  Is it really possible?

Thanks for your advice

Cheers

Imogen

PS : any advice also for what I should be eating before a Karate class or surfing session?  Thanks :)

Hi Imogen,

Great to connect with you! I completely understand where you are coming from, it isn't always easy.

Some great articles which might help you out:

Basically they all say just to be honest with your friends and family, communicate openly, answer questions if asked but  don't try to push your beliefs on to others. Lead by example.

Hope something here helps!

Hi jess
Many thanks for your insight on this issue.
Since my last post, I ve loved preparing raw foods for myself and family but must admit it has been impossible to go 100% raw when going out for family reunions or at the restaurant. So I ve been kind to myself and I don't punish myself if I haven't gone raw and try to make the next meal as raw as possible and catch up. I guess that if this is supposed to be a life change it's not going to happen overnight. I m enjoying every day as it comes and I m really proud of myself for having integrated so much healthy stuff into my diet without having withdrawal symptoms from junk.
Anyway thanks for your support and continue posting the encouragements!
All the best
Imogen
